Hi,
I'm having problems in viewing a Favicon I have installed on this website - www.barefeetweddings.com.au
I have pasted this code in Global Scripts >in the head section of the page - <LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://www.barefeetweddings.com.au/favicon.ico">
and loaded an ico.png image in the Recourse Manager.
I've read previous posts for clues but no success. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
Kelvin

You are calling the image from the root of your site, so the image needs to be there. Putting it in the resource manager has most likely loaded it into the image folder.

Hi Kelvin,

Rename the image to favicon.ico

And then add that to the root folder in the Resource Manager and publish.

Jason

Thanks to both of you for the very prompt response.
I renamed the image to just 'favicon.ico' (which changed the icon appearance) and then reloaded into the root area of the Resource Manager then republished.
Still cannot see the icon. Are you able to see on your browsers?

Have I renamed the image correctly i.e. should it still contain the first part of the title and not just favicon.ico?
Also, the image was a .png when I converted my .jpg image using the favicon converter site - should it still remain as a .jpg image after conversion?

Should be named as favicon.ico as Jason says. Some browser like IE take awhile for them to show. When I view the source of your front page it tells me this "The requested URL /favicon.ico was not found on this server."

Where did you upload the ico to the root or to another directory?

From the Intellimon/XSite Pro Knowledgebase: How can I add a favicon logo to the address bar for my website?

Thanks Copy Wolf.

I actually viewed your previous advise/comments in your earlier posts in the forum on this subject and followed these instructions accurately at the time.

Unsure why the favicon is not presenting. Much appreciated.

Some browsers store the favicon with the bookmark. If you have bookmarked (saved as Favorite) the website, try deleting the bookmark. Next refresh your browser cache (ctrl-f5) and reload the web page to see if the correct favicon comes up.
