All of a sudden I have had this problem start up and I cannot get passed it. No matter what. When creating a new page or a new project, doing it from scratch or using templates, importing new designs............. pretty much everything I have done all of my pages are showing up at about 350px wide. I cannot get them any larger during the design phase. Now if I click the show preview button, they show as full size pages. But in Xsitepro they are back to the 350 px size. Now pages or sites I have already done are fine. This all started out of the blue the other day when I went from working on one site to starting a new site. Whats up with this. Any suggestions. I have created a few sites with Xsitepro 2 since I bought it 6 or 7 months back with no problem like this .

Just an update in case anyone out here is watching this. I have spent my morning today working on this one issue. I have gone in and created some quick pages. Nothing helps. I used the quick page wizard to make a new page from scratch so I could start on a site that way. After I picked the page and went through the page settings. It was still only about about 300 px wide. I went into the source and I pasted another page source in that was working just fine. But that one also shows no more that 300px wide. I do not understand why just all at once nothing is working correctly on new pages. I am now almost sure it is not me but the software that is causing this. I have made about 20 sites with no problem and then in the middle of making a new page for a site I cannot get the pages to size correctly. Don't add up.

I suggest you start by installing the latest beta release to see if that helps: http://licensing.intellimon.com/xsitepr ... ate546.exe. If that doesn't help, I suggest you submit a ticket to Intellimon's tech support. http://intellimon.helpserve.com/.

No, 2.530 is not the same as 2.546 (these are different updates). You need to download and install: http://licensing.intellimon.com/xsitepr ... ate546.exe.

I did that update and still not working. I have no option other than to uninstall. I have to have this site done and uploaded by midnight friday and I am 2 days behind because of this. I will reinstall to see if that works and if not then I will have to work with something else to get caught up.

About to put in a support ticket but this is killing me. I uninstalled completely. Went in and fully deleted everything behind that. Reinstalled 100% and still it is doing the same thing. Surly I am not the only one to have this happen.

Well, I can't say I've ever heard of this problem before, but it could be something obvious that we are just missing. You say every site you try to build now has the same problem, even if you start a site from scratch?

Hi XChuck,

Andrea flagged this up for me to have a look at. :)

Ok some reasons that you may be seeing a small area in the designer:

1: The designer only shows the Main Panel, and the Preview shows the Main Panel, Left Panel and Right Panel.
If you have the Main panel Width set to 350px, this will look narrow when you edit the Main Panel content.

We have a video on page layouts that will help here:
http://www.xsitepro.com/page-layout-vid ... tware.html

We have a video on creating new projects and web pages here:
http://www.xsitepro.com/creating-a-new- ... tware.html

2: XSitePro needs a minimum of a 1024 x 768 screen resolution running at 100% magnification.
It is possible that your DPI (dots pre inch) is too high, or the application is not maximized on the screen, or your screen is smaller than the 1024x768 px minimum screen size that XHeader needs.

Please maximize XHeader to fill the whole screen.

Otherwise to change the DPI:
(in XP)
1) Right click on your desktop
2) Select Properties
3) Click the Settings tab
4) Click the Advanced button
5) Make sure your DPI / Text Size is normal

(in Vista)
1) Right click on your desktop
2) Select Personalization
3) You can now change your DPI by clicking the DPI / Text size link in the top left of the window.

3: Please make sure XSitePro is running full screen.
Please maximize XSitePro just in case this is a window size issue.

Otherwise, is there any chance of a screenshot, either here or as an attachment to a ticket?

Please let me know how you get on, I'll look out for your reply.

I am not sure but I may have it working some what. But now I have another issue that has shown up that it was not doing before.
After I got it where I think it may be working. I was trying to get some work done. Last week I started a site using the graphical 122 template. I made minimal changes. I changed the header photo, and made minor changes to the code. Then uploaded everything to the webserver. Everything went fine. Now I have updated the content inside xsitepro and everything looks good. I uploaded an updated content to the webserver and then when I go to preview things from the web I see that the template graphic is back instead of my graphic. Now that template graphic was manually deleted from the folder by me when I replaced it. But it is showing in the uploaded page. I went in and looked in the preview folder in Xsite pro and found that my graphic has been deleted and replaced by the template graphic. So I have to regenerate my graphic again. Then again I uploaded everything and it is ok. Well, I take a break, a bit pissed off. Leave the program up and running. I come back after a couple of hours and I have an email where I have to ad content to another site. I go to that site make changes and that goes well. Then I go back to the site I was working on before and add more content to it and add another page and then I do a preview from inside Xsite pro and all is good. I upload the added content and then afterwards I go to the site to verify it is correct and again the template graphic is in place of the graphic I made for a second time. I go back into the preview folder and my graphic has been deleted, no where to be found. So for a third time I have to recreate my graphic and then upload it all over again but this time I make a copy of that folder in the xsite pro folder before I do any uploading as a back up. I have lost a total of roughly 3 hours based on the 1 hour per each recreate and upload time. Now also I have found that one other site where I used a xsitepro template is doing the same thing. I have had to repeat the process with that site also.
Why does it keep deleting my customization's and replacing them with the template content?
I manage 29 websites. All of which require daily updates. many of them require updating 3 or 4 times a day as new content requests are emailed in. I work like 8 to 10 hours and then will sleep or do things around the house for maybe 4 to 5 hours and then back to work doing the sites. I get messages through my cell when an urgent update is required by a client and believe me when I say someone is sitting at a computer somewhere counting the minutes to see how fast I get the content up. I cannot spend extra time reupping content or regenerating content. Then add in time to type something off to support or in here. When I do something it has to work the first time unless I mess it up and I can deal with my mistakes. But I don't make the same mistake twice. Can't afford to.

I am going to check in a bit to see if the other issue is fixed or what. Thanks for getting with me. Still waiting on support.

I am posting this to update and close this thread. I want to post what I found out in case someone out there has or will have this problem.
First and foremost I want to thank you Andrea. I suspect I know what is happening. I am still not sure why but I am working on it. On the "Main Panel" settings, I would set it for the correct width. But when I would save the setting it would jump back to the default of empty thus the main panel would go back to about 350 px. I have been up against so many deadlines this week I had to really slow down to take a breath and I started going over everything. I backed everything up in Xsitepro and then I ran my sytem backup software to this past Sunday cause I know it was working fine Sunday. I use acronis to backup every night. Well Xsitepro started working again. Then after a couple hours it started doing it again. Started checking some stuff on my computer and the only things that changed after the backup restore was one Windows update and 2 antivirus updates. I disabled my Avast antivirus and Xsitepro is back working. Turn Avast back on and it worked till I rebooted my system and Xsitepro stopped again. Did this 3 times and got the same results so I am saying that my Avast is causing something in Xsitepro. The thing that throws me is I put Xsitepro on my laptop. It has Avast also but no problem. I plan on uninstalling my Avast and reinstalling it this weekend to see if it fixes the problem on this machine.
Thanks again all.

I'm apparently having the same problem (quite serious), but unlike XChuck, I'm using AVG as my virus protection software. I've tried to upload a screen-shot (JPEG), but I get the following response: Could not upload attachment to ./files/39588_dc2b1ab228a0a23d5b0ad52533e29101. As a newbie to this forum, perhaps I'm doing something wrong . Any help in this regard will be appreciated as well.

After reading the myriad approaches to resolve this issue, perhaps the best thing will be to reinstall XSitePro and see if that resolves the issue. The thing is I've only been using the program for about two weeks now and until now everything has been fine. I've also added no new software to this machine (running Windows 7). This computer is reserved for only business purposes - no superflous nonsense if you know what I mean.

I hope someone comes up with an answer quick - because I've got a deadline as well. Thank you.

Jerry

ISSUE RESOLVED! :D

At least as far as my project is concerned, I resolved the problem.

For my website, I chose to not utilize a left or right panel and applied that desire through the Advanced Settings for each page. Now while I don't know how this happened, but the setting was changed back for the Home Page. When I again chose to not use the right panel, the page returned to normal.

Oops! Not So Fast . . .

Well, so much for a solution. It worked for about 20 minutes. Like a fool, I attempted to really prove my theory by activating both left and right panels. It replicated the problem, but when I chose to return to de-activating those two panels, the problem remained.

Very curious.
