I built a header in xheader, blank, built my own. When you build your own, all content is placed on the white background, rectangle according to the size designated (you already know this I am sure), then I saved it as a png. When I bring in the png to my site in the header, that white platform, background is still there. My goal is to have a transparent background and have my header float. After an hour, I can't figure this out.

How do I have my graphics import, save without the background AND how do I replace the white background with something in xheader if i want it to be something other than white...I know it can be done, the templates show it.

thanks sooooooo much. I about have this figured out and can quit bugging everyone. www.boisehaps.com

Im fairly inexperienced at this myself but I think I know part of your answer.
Someone gave me a banner for their website but it was too small so I placed it in Xheader and that white background showed behind it. With the filled square tool I made a rectangle the size I wanted that covered the whole white thing - I made the rectangle fill the same colour as the banner I had been given , then I placed the banner they had given me on top of the rectangle so it blended in - this gave me some margin. Probably there is a more correct way to do it but I cant figure it out quickly. I matched the colour of the banner by using the Gimp colour picker to find the hex #.
So to change the colour from white you just use the filled square tool Does that help?

It sure did! Check out the floating banner on www.boisehaps.com homepage (this site is not done, but open for a bit while I edit and check.) Thanks so much!
