I'd like to see in future incarnations of XSite Pro, perhaps in the "web site settings" a function where you could specify the proper canonicalization you'd like for your site. Then, this would be automatically inserted in the appropiate section of the "HEAD" of your webpages.

Something like...

<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.nameofsite.com">

This could come in handy to reduce the possibility of duplicate content.

I don't know how viable this request is... it's just a humble suggestion by a huge fan of XSite Pro.

Hi,

I'd like to know if this has been solved?

Additionally, just by adding that Rewrite solution with .htaccess is enough for canonical purposes?

If not, then yes, I believe we need a better option inside Xsitepro.

Thanks!

Even after you have modified the htaccess, you still have problems with canonical url especially in the internal links. I noticed that the home page link is http://abc.com after I have added the rewrite from non-www to www in the htaccess file.

I think the problems lies at Home Page Settings of XSP. It would be better if we have additional options under Website Settings>Home Page Settings eg
http://www.abc.com/
http://www.abc.com/whatever.htm/php etc

instead of just
http://abc.com
http://abc.com/index.php/htm etc

I hope to see this feature added into the next update of XSP.
