I have a site built with XSP that is sitting at the top of page one (exact) and #3 (broad).
The site is an Amazon Product Review site.
And before someone tells me that maybe no one is looking for your keyword, according to Google keyword tool, my keyword is searched 33,100 (broad) and 1,900 (exact) per month.

I've come to the realization that it is probably the site layout that is turning people off.
Would like a second opinion.
Anyone willing to help?

Thanks.

Can you post the URL so we can check out the site. What keywords your are ranking for? We have nothing really to go on at this point.

Hi Khaldoun

Don't be shy, can we also have a look at your site. We all learn from each other when others do things right and also wrong.

Cheers

Google will skew the search results toward sites or topics you have searched for in the past.

If you search for a particular keyword and visit the site it will show on Googles results near the top of the main page. To see the actual search position of a keyword use Chromes incognito search. If your site is still #3 congrats.

This happened to me about 2 years ago when I started building amazon review sites. I thought I hit page one in about two weeks, but no sales to speak of... in reality, I was on page ten.

Hi Khaldoun,

My suggestion is find your competitors sites and check their stats with Alexa see their customer profiles..assess what you personally like about their site layout, images, colors , highlight text, fonts, bold etc and use their ideas for your site.

I joined a membership site just recently that allows me to search 10,000 largest advertisers on the net in new and profitable niches, monthly traffic figures for affiliate websites and so on ...helps to know how the big guns pull their sales.

My advice is checkout tabletpcreview[dot]com and see what you like about their website...this website sends 110093 visitors per month to pcworld.com

Hope that helps

Richard :P
